Hornsey Historical Society's Archive Room contains an extensive collection of local history material. You are welcome to visit the Old Schoolhouse to carry out research. There is no charge for this at present. Opening times are limited, so please contact the Archivist in advance to make an appointment, and to check that the material you are looking for is available.
If you would prefer to send in your enquiry to the Archivist, we will do our best to answer it, but please be patient as we cannot always reply immediately.
Please bear in mind that we are not a family history society. If your ancestors lived in Hornsey, we may be able to give you some information about the house or street in which they lived, or about local buildings and institutions such as churches, schools and hospitals. But we do not hold detailed records of, e.g., school pupils or hospital patients, and we are unlikely to have information about specific individuals or families unless they were prominent members of the local community. We may be able to advise you on alternative sources of information, but we cannot carry out research at libraries, record offices, etc.
For further information, please contact our Archivist and Curator by post or e-mail.
